H.R. No. 2510 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Family and friends mourn the tragic loss of U.S. Marine Corps Lance Corporal Bobby Lee Twitty, who died serving his nation in Iraq on July 22, 2007, at the age of 20; and WHEREAS, Lance Corporal Twitty was killed in an accident while serving in Ramadi, Iraq; he joined the Marines in December 2005, training as a heavy equipment operator; in June 2006, he joined his unit, Combat Logistics Battalion 6, Combat Logistics Regiment 2, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, II Marine Expeditionary Force out of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina; and WHEREAS, Born in Conroe on September 27, 1986, to James and Tammy Twitty, Bobby Twitty lived much of his life in Bedias and graduated from Madisonville High School in 2005; he was a member of the Bedias Baptist Church; and WHEREAS, This adventurous and energetic young man loved the outdoors, especially hunting with his father and uncle, and he enjoyed bowling and shooting pool with his friends; he was also known for his big heart and his infectious smile; and WHEREAS, Through his unfaltering devotion to duty, honor, and this country, Bobby Twitty embodied the highest ideals of the United States armed forces, and his fellow citizens owe him a debt of gratitude that the passage of time can never diminish; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Lance Corporal Bobby Lee Twitty and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his parents, James and Tammy Twitty; to his brothers and sisters, James, Patrick, David, Patricia, and Lauren Twitty; to his grandparents, James and Pat Twitty and Robert and Pat Lillie; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Bobby Lee Twitty.
