| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt at |

| 6 | 6 | | the loss of U.S. Army Sergeant Danny Richard Soto, who died on June |

| 7 | 7 | | 16, 2007, at the age of 24; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 12th Field Artillery |

| 9 | 9 | | Regiment, 4th Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, Sergeant Soto was |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | killed while bravely serving his country in Iraq; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, A native of Honduras, Danny Soto moved to Texas with |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | his family at the age of 11; a loving husband and father, he brought |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | joy and laughter into the lives of his family and friends; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Sergeant Soto exemplified the highest ideals of the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | United States armed forces, inspiring others with his leadership |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and courage; although he is deeply missed, he will forever be |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | treasured in the hearts of his loved ones; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 19 | 19 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of U.S. Army Sergeant |

| 20 | 20 | | Danny Richard Soto and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his |

| 21 | 21 | | family: to his wife, Vanessa; to his son, Jonathan Raymond Soto; to |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | his mother, Marina Horsford; to his sisters, Marci and Joanna Soto; |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further |
