H.R. No. 2519
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt at
the loss of U.S. Army Sergeant Danny Richard Soto, who died on June
16, 2007, at the age of 24; and
WHEREAS, Assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 12th Field Artillery
Regiment, 4th Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, Sergeant Soto was
killed while bravely serving his country in Iraq; and
WHEREAS, A native of Honduras, Danny Soto moved to Texas with
his family at the age of 11; a loving husband and father, he brought
joy and laughter into the lives of his family and friends; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant Soto exemplified the highest ideals of the
United States armed forces, inspiring others with his leadership
and courage; although he is deeply missed, he will forever be
treasured in the hearts of his loved ones; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of U.S. Army Sergeant
Danny Richard Soto and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his
family: to his wife, Vanessa; to his son, Jonathan Raymond Soto; to
his mother, Marina Horsford; to his sisters, Marci and Joanna Soto;
and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of U.S. Army
Sergeant Danny Richard Soto.
