| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the heartache felt |

| 6 | 6 | | at the loss of U.S. Army Specialist Dustin Cody Jackson of |

| 7 | 7 | | Arlington, who died on March 12, 2008, at the age of 21; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Assigned to the 350th Adjutant General Company in |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Grand Prairie, Specialist Jackson was killed in Tallil, Iraq, when |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | his vehicle was struck by indirect fire; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Dustin Jackson demonstrated exceptional sympathy |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | and generosity from a young age and was especially concerned for the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | homeless; moreover, he was known for his caring nature and ability |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | to see the good in everyone; he felt called to serve his country and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | drew strength in his efforts from his large and devoted family, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | including his wife, Michelle Jackson; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Our state and nation are fortunate to have men and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | women whose love of country leads them to military duty, and time |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | can never diminish the profound debt that Americans owe to Dustin |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Jackson for the service he undertook and the sacrifice he rendered; |

| 21 | 21 | | he was a soldier of honor and valor, and those who were fortunate |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | enough to share in his love and friendship will forever carry him |

| 23 | 23 | | close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |

| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of U.S. Army |
