H.R. No. 2521 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the heartache felt at the loss of U.S. Army Specialist Dustin Cody Jackson of Arlington, who died on March 12, 2008, at the age of 21; and WHEREAS, Assigned to the 350th Adjutant General Company in Grand Prairie, Specialist Jackson was killed in Tallil, Iraq, when his vehicle was struck by indirect fire; and WHEREAS, Dustin Jackson demonstrated exceptional sympathy and generosity from a young age and was especially concerned for the homeless; moreover, he was known for his caring nature and ability to see the good in everyone; he felt called to serve his country and drew strength in his efforts from his large and devoted family, including his wife, Michelle Jackson; and WHEREAS, Our state and nation are fortunate to have men and women whose love of country leads them to military duty, and time can never diminish the profound debt that Americans owe to Dustin Jackson for the service he undertook and the sacrifice he rendered; he was a soldier of honor and valor, and those who were fortunate enough to share in his love and friendship will forever carry him close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of U.S. Army Specialist Dustin Cody Jackson and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Michelle Jackson; to his mother, Ina Lea Jackson; to his father, Marc W. Jackson and his wife, Marti DeCluitt; to his brother, Damon Jackson and his wife, Leslie; to his sister, Krysta Myers; to his brother-in-law, Michael O'Reilly; to his grandmother, Lella Mae Andrews; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Dustin Cody Jackson.
