H.R. No. 2522 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the heartache felt at the loss of U.S. Army Private First Class Andrew Travis Engstrom of Slaton, who died on July 4, 2007, at the age of 22; and WHEREAS, Assigned to the 1st Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Private Engstrom lost his life in Taji, Iraq; and WHEREAS, Our state and nation are fortunate to have men and women whose love for their country inspires them to take up military service, yet the tragic death of this brave young man is a sobering reminder of the cost of war; and WHEREAS, Time does not erase the profound debt that Americans owe to our nation's servicemen and servicewomen for their courageous efforts and enormous sacrifices; the death of Andrew Engstrom has left a void in the lives of his loved ones, but they will forever carry his memory close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Private First Class Andrew Engstrom and extend sincere condolences to all those who mourn his passing; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of U.S. Army Private First Class Andrew Travis Engstrom.
