| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, LaRae and O. D. Hughes of Longview celebrated their |

| 6 | 6 | | 55th wedding anniversary on April 24, 2009, and they may indeed |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | reflect with joy on the rewarding relationship they have shared; |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Hughes exchanged the vows of matrimony |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | in Center on that special day in 1954, and over the course of their |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | marriage, they have found in one another a loving life partner; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, A veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. Hughes also served |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | his fellow citizens as a constable for many years; today, his |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | hobbies include motorcycling and traveling; Mrs. Hughes has been a |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | dedicated homemaker throughout their marriage, and in addition to |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | spending time with her loved ones, she enjoys shopping; the couple |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | are both members of Mobberly Baptist Church; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, This devoted pair count among their blessings a fine |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | family that includes 4 children, Glynn, Mark, Cheryl, and Kyle, as |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | well as 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, For 55 years, O. D. and LaRae Hughes have brought to |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | their marriage laughter, kindness, and devotion, and it is a |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | pleasure to honor them for their enduring commitment; now, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | therefore, be it |

| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby congratulate O. D. and LaRae Hughes on the |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | occasion of their 55th wedding anniversary and extend to them |

| 28 | 28 | | sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
