H.R. No. 2542
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Beatrice Arnold was named Mrs. VFW on May 16, 2009,
for her outstanding service to the organization's Westphalia post;
and
WHEREAS, While this honor has previously only been presented
to couples, Mrs. Arnold's exceptional efforts in behalf of her
fellow members have made her a truly worthy recipient; she now
represents District 14, which is made up of 13 VFW posts and 11
Ladies Auxiliaries; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Arnold has helped to meet the group's mission
to "honor the dead by helping the living" through her dedicated
volunteerism; she has worked to ensure that veterans and their
families receive the support and assistance that they have earned,
and in so doing she has earned the lasting esteem and affection of
her fellow VFW members; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Beatrice Arnold on earning the Mrs.
VFW award and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and,
be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mrs. Arnold as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
