| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The family and friends of U.S. Army Sergeant |

| 6 | 6 | | Chadrick Omar Domino of Ennis suffered an immeasurable loss with |

| 7 | 7 | | his death on May 31, 2007, at the age of 23; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Assigned to the 1st Battalion, 23rd Infantry |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Combat Team), out of Fort Lewis, Washington, this brave soldier |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | joined the army in 2002; he was serving his second tour of duty in |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Iraq when he was killed in combat during a patrol in Baghdad; he was |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | promoted posthumously to sergeant; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Sergeant Domino's awards and decorations include |

| 15 | 15 | | the Purple Heart, two Army Commendation Medals, a Meritorious Unit |

| 16 | 16 | | Commendation, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service |

| 18 | 18 | | Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Combat Infantryman Badge, and |

| 19 | 19 | | the Combat Action Badge; and |

| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Chad Domino was born in Longview on June 21, 1983, to |

| 21 | 21 | | Willis and Gloria Domino; he enjoyed comic books, music, dancing, |

| 22 | 22 | | and good food; he also loved to play football and was a student of |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | karate; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Exemplifying the highest ideals of the U.S. armed |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | forces, Chadrick Domino inspired others with his courage and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | fortitude, and although he is deeply missed, those who loved him |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | will forever carry his memory close in their hearts; now, |

| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 30 | 30 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Sergeant Chadrick |
