| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A group of 12 young athletes from the Fort Worth area |

| 6 | 6 | | have been named to a junior olympic baseball team that will compete |

| 7 | 7 | | in the Olimpiade del Tricolore in Reggio Emilia, Italy, in August |

| 8 | 8 | | 2009; and |

| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, This prestigious event takes place every four years, |

| 10 | 10 | | drawing 5,000 competitors from 25 countries; only two baseball |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | teams from the United States are taking part in the 2009 Olimpiade, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | and both of them hail from North Texas; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Two of the Fort Worth-area players, Daniel Gresham |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | and Easton Etter, attend H. F. Stevens Middle School in Crowley; |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | they are joined by five Johnson County athletes: Garrett Augsburger |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and Eric Yarger from Loflin Middle School in Joshua, Jerry Taft from |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Godley Middle School in Godley, and Reid Woods and Casey Shane from |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Hughes Middle School in Burleson; and |

| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Also part of the team are David Tieding, Kameron |

| 20 | 20 | | Kripple, and Hunter Nurdin, who attend McLean Middle School in Fort |

| 21 | 21 | | Worth, John Ferguson from Fort Worth Country Day School, and Drake |

| 22 | 22 | | Camilleri from Grace Preparatory Academy in Arlington; and |

| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Through their exceptional performances on the |

| 24 | 24 | | diamond, these players have earned the opportunity to take part in |

| 25 | 25 | | international competition, and their participation is sure to prove |

| 26 | 26 | | an enriching experience that they will continue to value in the |

| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
