H.R. No. 2584 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, A group of 12 young athletes from the Fort Worth area have been named to a junior olympic baseball team that will compete in the Olimpiade del Tricolore in Reggio Emilia, Italy, in August 2009; and WHEREAS, This prestigious event takes place every four years, drawing 5,000 competitors from 25 countries; only two baseball teams from the United States are taking part in the 2009 Olimpiade, and both of them hail from North Texas; and WHEREAS, Two of the Fort Worth-area players, Daniel Gresham and Easton Etter, attend H. F. Stevens Middle School in Crowley; they are joined by five Johnson County athletes: Garrett Augsburger and Eric Yarger from Loflin Middle School in Joshua, Jerry Taft from Godley Middle School in Godley, and Reid Woods and Casey Shane from Hughes Middle School in Burleson; and WHEREAS, Also part of the team are David Tieding, Kameron Kripple, and Hunter Nurdin, who attend McLean Middle School in Fort Worth, John Ferguson from Fort Worth Country Day School, and Drake Camilleri from Grace Preparatory Academy in Arlington; and WHEREAS, Through their exceptional performances on the diamond, these players have earned the opportunity to take part in international competition, and their participation is sure to prove an enriching experience that they will continue to value in the years ahead; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby honor the members of the Fort Worth-area Olimpiade del Tricolore junior olympic baseball team and extend to them sincere best wishes for success in their upcoming games in Italy; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the team members as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
