| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately convey the heartache felt at |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | the loss of U.S. Army Corporal Zachary Ryan Endsley, who died on |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | July 23, 2007, at the age of 21; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Assigned to the 1st Battalion, 4th Infantry |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Regiment, Corporal Endsley was killed while bravely serving his |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | country in Afghanistan; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, A former resident of Spring, he was known for his |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | mischievous sense of humor, and delighted in playing practical |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | jokes on his family and friends; in his free time, this talented |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | artist and musician enjoyed drawing and playing his guitar; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Corporal Endsley attended Oak Ridge High School, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | where he was a member of the Air Force JROTC; he also volunteered |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | with the Civil Air Patrol as a teenager; after graduating in 2004, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | he attended community college before fulfilling a longtime goal of |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | joining the military in 2005; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Americans owe a profound debt to our nation's |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | servicemen and servicewomen, whose courageous efforts and enormous |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | sacrifices are deserving of their fellow citizens' deepest respect |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | and gratitude; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Exemplifying the highest ideals of the U.S. armed |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | forces, Zach Endsley inspired others with his determination and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | courage; although his death has left a void in the lives of his |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | loved ones, they will forever carry memories of this heroic young |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | man close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Corporal Zachary Ryan |

| 31 | 31 | | Endsley and extend deepest sympathy to his mother and stepfather, |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Melinda and David Carroll; to his father, Terry Endsley; to his |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | brother, Aaron Endsley; to his stepsisters, Katie Petty and her |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | husband, Shawn, and Kimberly Worthington and her husband, Tyler; |

| 35 | 35 | | and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further |

| 36 | 36 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
