H.R. No. 2586 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately convey the heartache felt at the loss of U.S. Army Corporal Zachary Ryan Endsley, who died on July 23, 2007, at the age of 21; and WHEREAS, Assigned to the 1st Battalion, 4th Infantry Regiment, Corporal Endsley was killed while bravely serving his country in Afghanistan; and WHEREAS, A former resident of Spring, he was known for his mischievous sense of humor, and delighted in playing practical jokes on his family and friends; in his free time, this talented artist and musician enjoyed drawing and playing his guitar; and WHEREAS, Corporal Endsley attended Oak Ridge High School, where he was a member of the Air Force JROTC; he also volunteered with the Civil Air Patrol as a teenager; after graduating in 2004, he attended community college before fulfilling a longtime goal of joining the military in 2005; and WHEREAS, Americans owe a profound debt to our nation's servicemen and servicewomen, whose courageous efforts and enormous sacrifices are deserving of their fellow citizens' deepest respect and gratitude; and WHEREAS, Exemplifying the highest ideals of the U.S. armed forces, Zach Endsley inspired others with his determination and courage; although his death has left a void in the lives of his loved ones, they will forever carry memories of this heroic young man close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Corporal Zachary Ryan Endsley and extend deepest sympathy to his mother and stepfather, Melinda and David Carroll; to his father, Terry Endsley; to his brother, Aaron Endsley; to his stepsisters, Katie Petty and her husband, Shawn, and Kimberly Worthington and her husband, Tyler; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Corporal Zachary Ryan Endsley.
