| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Brenda Rogers of Houston has contributed to her |

| 6 | 6 | | community through her work as an educator and a volunteer; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Born and raised in the Bayou City, Ms. Rogers earned |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | her bachelor's and master's degrees from Texas Southern University; |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | she dedicated herself professionally to the development of Texas |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | youth and taught at the elementary level in the Houston Independent |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | School District for 16 years; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Today, this public-spirited Texan enjoys helping |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | people in her community, particularly children and the elderly; she |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | serves as president and treasurer of the S Macgregor Civic Club and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | is a member of the Macgregor #83 Super Neighborhood Council; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Ms. Rogers enjoys the love and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | support of her family, which includes her two daughters, Dana Jo and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Lauren Danielle Rogers; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Community leaders and volunteers provide invaluable |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | support to the cities and towns of the Lone Star State, and Brenda |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Rogers is indeed deserving of recognition for her many good works |

| 22 | 22 | | and her dedication to others; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 24 | 24 | | Legislature hereby honor Brenda Rogers for her commitment to her |

| 25 | 25 | | community and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
