55 WHEREAS, Brenda Rogers of Houston has contributed to her
66 community through her work as an educator and a volunteer; and
77 WHEREAS, Born and raised in the Bayou City, Ms. Rogers earned
88 her bachelor's and master's degrees from Texas Southern University;
99 she dedicated herself professionally to the development of Texas
1010 youth and taught at the elementary level in the Houston Independent
1111 School District for 16 years; and
1212 WHEREAS, Today, this public-spirited Texan enjoys helping
1313 people in her community, particularly children and the elderly; she
1414 serves as president and treasurer of the S Macgregor Civic Club and
1515 is a member of the Macgregor #83 Super Neighborhood Council; and
1616 WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Ms. Rogers enjoys the love and
1717 support of her family, which includes her two daughters, Dana Jo and
1818 Lauren Danielle Rogers; and
1919 WHEREAS, Community leaders and volunteers provide invaluable
2020 support to the cities and towns of the Lone Star State, and Brenda
2121 Rogers is indeed deserving of recognition for her many good works
2222 and her dedication to others; now, therefore, be it
2323 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2424 Legislature hereby honor Brenda Rogers for her commitment to her
2525 community and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
2626 success and happiness; and, be it further
2727 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2828 prepared for Ms. Rogers as an expression of high regard by the Texas
2929 House of Representatives.
