H.R. No. 2599 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Brenda Rogers of Houston has contributed to her community through her work as an educator and a volunteer; and WHEREAS, Born and raised in the Bayou City, Ms. Rogers earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from Texas Southern University; she dedicated herself professionally to the development of Texas youth and taught at the elementary level in the Houston Independent School District for 16 years; and WHEREAS, Today, this public-spirited Texan enjoys helping people in her community, particularly children and the elderly; she serves as president and treasurer of the S Macgregor Civic Club and is a member of the Macgregor #83 Super Neighborhood Council; and WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Ms. Rogers enjoys the love and support of her family, which includes her two daughters, Dana Jo and Lauren Danielle Rogers; and WHEREAS, Community leaders and volunteers provide invaluable support to the cities and towns of the Lone Star State, and Brenda Rogers is indeed deserving of recognition for her many good works and her dedication to others; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby honor Brenda Rogers for her commitment to her community and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Rogers as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
