| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Ruthie Hatton of Houston has long distinguished |

| 6 | 6 | | herself through her service to her community, and her leadership |

| 7 | 7 | | and generosity of spirit have earned her the heartfelt admiration |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | of all who know her; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A native of Simonton, Mrs. Hatton settled in the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Bayou City in 1967; she married Robert Hatton, Sr., with whom she |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | raised nine children, and she enjoyed a notable career with |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Methodist Hospital until her retirement; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Over the years, this esteemed woman has benefited |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | her fellow Texans by helping individuals in need, and she is |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | especially known for her selflessness in assisting people with home |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | upkeep; Mrs. Hatton has also made a positive difference through her |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | volunteerism with the Brookhaven Civic Club and as a leader in the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | congregation of Word of Power International Church; in her free |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | time, she enjoys taking care of her home and traveling by train so |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | that she can see the country; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Those individuals who step forward to share their |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | time with others are indeed deserving of our profound gratitude, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | and it is a pleasure to honor Mrs. Hatton, who has enriched the |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | lives of many with her kind and caring ways; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby commend Ruthie Hatton for her significant |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | contributions to the betterment of her community and extend to her |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
