H.R. No. 2600 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Ruthie Hatton of Houston has long distinguished herself through her service to her community, and her leadership and generosity of spirit have earned her the heartfelt admiration of all who know her; and WHEREAS, A native of Simonton, Mrs. Hatton settled in the Bayou City in 1967; she married Robert Hatton, Sr., with whom she raised nine children, and she enjoyed a notable career with Methodist Hospital until her retirement; and WHEREAS, Over the years, this esteemed woman has benefited her fellow Texans by helping individuals in need, and she is especially known for her selflessness in assisting people with home upkeep; Mrs. Hatton has also made a positive difference through her volunteerism with the Brookhaven Civic Club and as a leader in the congregation of Word of Power International Church; in her free time, she enjoys taking care of her home and traveling by train so that she can see the country; and WHEREAS, Those individuals who step forward to share their time with others are indeed deserving of our profound gratitude, and it is a pleasure to honor Mrs. Hatton, who has enriched the lives of many with her kind and caring ways; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby commend Ruthie Hatton for her significant contributions to the betterment of her community and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mrs. Hatton as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
