| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Mary Seamore of Houston has distinguished herself |

| 6 | 6 | | through her contributions to her community, and her outstanding |

| 7 | 7 | | civic leadership has earned her the deep admiration of all who know |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | her; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Seamore has worked tirelessly to increase voter |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | participation; in addition, she has served the Harris County |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Democratic Party as an assistant to Billie Carr, and she is a member |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | of the Houston Black Coalition of Democrats, the State Democratic |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Executive Committee, and Texas Democratic Women; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Seamore was born in Washington, Louisiana, and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | earned her bachelor's degree in political science from the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | University of Houston; she is retired from her position in the child |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | support division of the office of the attorney general; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, The loving mother of one son, James Duncan, Ms. |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Seamore is a valued member of Riverside United Methodist Church, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | where she serves on the stewardship committee; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Politically engaged citizens play an indispensible |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | role in a democratic society, and through her expertise and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | dedication, Mary Seamore has served her community, her state, and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | her nation, setting an example of excellence to which all may |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | aspire; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature hereby honor Mary Seamore for her civic involvement and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | noteworthy accomplishments and extend to her sincere best wishes |
