44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Mary Seamore of Houston has distinguished herself
66 through her contributions to her community, and her outstanding
77 civic leadership has earned her the deep admiration of all who know
88 her; and
99 WHEREAS, Ms. Seamore has worked tirelessly to increase voter
1010 participation; in addition, she has served the Harris County
1111 Democratic Party as an assistant to Billie Carr, and she is a member
1212 of the Houston Black Coalition of Democrats, the State Democratic
1313 Executive Committee, and Texas Democratic Women; and
1414 WHEREAS, Ms. Seamore was born in Washington, Louisiana, and
1515 earned her bachelor's degree in political science from the
1616 University of Houston; she is retired from her position in the child
1717 support division of the office of the attorney general; and
1818 WHEREAS, The loving mother of one son, James Duncan, Ms.
1919 Seamore is a valued member of Riverside United Methodist Church,
2020 where she serves on the stewardship committee; and
2121 WHEREAS, Politically engaged citizens play an indispensible
2222 role in a democratic society, and through her expertise and
2323 dedication, Mary Seamore has served her community, her state, and
2424 her nation, setting an example of excellence to which all may
2525 aspire; now, therefore, be it
2626 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2727 Legislature hereby honor Mary Seamore for her civic involvement and
2828 noteworthy accomplishments and extend to her sincere best wishes
2929 for continued success; and, be it further
3030 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3131 prepared for Ms. Seamore as an expression of high regard by the
3232 Texas House of Representatives.
