 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Mary Seamore of Houston has distinguished herself
 through her contributions to her community, and her outstanding
 civic leadership has earned her the deep admiration of all who know
 her; and
 WHEREAS, Ms. Seamore has worked tirelessly to increase voter
 participation; in addition, she has served the Harris County
 Democratic Party as an assistant to Billie Carr, and she is a member
 of the Houston Black Coalition of Democrats, the State Democratic
 Executive Committee, and Texas Democratic Women; and
 WHEREAS, Ms. Seamore was born in Washington, Louisiana, and
 earned her bachelor's degree in political science from the
 University of Houston; she is retired from her position in the child
 support division of the office of the attorney general; and
 WHEREAS, The loving mother of one son, James Duncan, Ms.
 Seamore is a valued member of Riverside United Methodist Church,
 where she serves on the stewardship committee; and
 WHEREAS, Politically engaged citizens play an indispensible
 role in a democratic society, and through her expertise and
 dedication, Mary Seamore has served her community, her state, and
 her nation, setting an example of excellence to which all may
 aspire; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby honor Mary Seamore for her civic involvement and
 noteworthy accomplishments and extend to her sincere best wishes
 for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Seamore as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
