44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
66 by a great and enduring love, Patsy and Jerry Swaim of Midland
77 celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 9, 2009; and
88 WHEREAS, Jerry Swaim and the former Patsy Burgess were united
99 in matrimony in Kermit in 1959; through the years, they have
1010 nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with
1111 the addition of three children, Terri, Sherri, and Tracey, and
1212 seven grandchildren; and
1313 WHEREAS, Mr. Swaim worked for El Paso Natural Gas for many
1414 years and is retired; Mrs. Swaim is a homemaker; the couple are
1515 members of First Southern Baptist Church in Gardendale and are
1616 involved with their community through Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts;
1717 and
1818 WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the
1919 world during the past five decades, this devoted husband and wife
2020 have remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the
2121 strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges
2222 and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
2323 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2424 Legislature hereby congratulate Patsy and Jerry Swaim on their
2525 golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes
2626 for continued happiness; and, be it further
2727 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2828 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Swaim as an expression of high regard by
2929 the Texas House of Representatives.
