H.R. No. 2625 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced by a great and enduring love, Patsy and Jerry Swaim of Midland celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 9, 2009; and WHEREAS, Jerry Swaim and the former Patsy Burgess were united in matrimony in Kermit in 1959; through the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the addition of three children, Terri, Sherri, and Tracey, and seven grandchildren; and WHEREAS, Mr. Swaim worked for El Paso Natural Gas for many years and is retired; Mrs. Swaim is a homemaker; the couple are members of First Southern Baptist Church in Gardendale and are involved with their community through Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts; and WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the world during the past five decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Patsy and Jerry Swaim on their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Swaim as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
