| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Dustin Sample of Alice High School has been named |

| 6 | 6 | | the 2009 Secondary Teacher of the Year for the Alice Independent |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | School District; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, An Arkansas native, Mr. Sample graduated from Ponca |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | City High School in Oklahoma and earned a bachelor's degree in |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | English education from the University of Central Oklahoma; he is a |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | six-year veteran educator and teaches 9th, 10th, and 12th grade |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | classes; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Sample gained his initial entry into the field |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | of education when he was hired as a substitute teacher while |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | enrolled in college; with his very first classroom experience with |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | second grade students at Roosevelt Elementary School in Ponca City, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | he realized that he had the ability to motivate and inspire young |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | people, and he has been furthering his teaching skills in the years |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | since; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Dustin Sample has made a positive difference in the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | lives of his students, and his exceptional work as a member of the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Alice High School faculty is duly recognized by this prestigious |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | award; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Dustin Sample on being named the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | 2009 Secondary Teacher of the Year for the Alice Independent School |

| 27 | 27 | | District and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
