H.R. No. 2633 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Dustin Sample of Alice High School has been named the 2009 Secondary Teacher of the Year for the Alice Independent School District; and WHEREAS, An Arkansas native, Mr. Sample graduated from Ponca City High School in Oklahoma and earned a bachelor's degree in English education from the University of Central Oklahoma; he is a six-year veteran educator and teaches 9th, 10th, and 12th grade classes; and WHEREAS, Mr. Sample gained his initial entry into the field of education when he was hired as a substitute teacher while enrolled in college; with his very first classroom experience with second grade students at Roosevelt Elementary School in Ponca City, he realized that he had the ability to motivate and inspire young people, and he has been furthering his teaching skills in the years since; and WHEREAS, Dustin Sample has made a positive difference in the lives of his students, and his exceptional work as a member of the Alice High School faculty is duly recognized by this prestigious award; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Dustin Sample on being named the 2009 Secondary Teacher of the Year for the Alice Independent School District and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Sample as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
