R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Elena G. Juarez of Noonan Elementary School has been
named the 2009 Elementary Teacher of the Year for the Alice
Independent School District; and
WHEREAS, A veteran educator with nearly 30 years of
experience at the elementary level, Ms. Juarez teaches fourth grade
at Noonan; she engages her students by working beyond the textbook,
by discovering ways to increase their individual investment in the
learning process, and by acknowledging them as important and
valued; and
WHEREAS, The emphasis that Elena Juarez places on
encouragement and on the personal aspect of instruction helps her
to connect with students in profound and meaningful ways, and this
prestigious award duly recognizes her exceptional skill as an
educator; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Elena G. Juarez on being named
Elementary Teacher of the Year for the Alice Independent School
District and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Juarez as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
