44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Cynthia Carter of Waxahachie has been honored as a
66 Fort Worth Business Press HealthCare Hero for her outstanding
77 quality of service and demonstrated commitment to the well-being of
88 her fellow citizens; and
99 WHEREAS, Mrs. Carter has taught more than 1,000 nurses during
1010 her 34 years as a clinical instructor; in her current position as
1111 director of education at Methodist Mansfield Medical Center, she is
1212 responsible for training all nurses, coordinating nursing
1313 orientation, and establishing and directing student affiliation
1414 clinical rotation programs with The University of Texas at
1515 Arlington, Tarrant County College, and Navarro College in Ellis
1616 County; and
1717 WHEREAS, Committed to community outreach, she visits local
1818 schools to inform children about the nursing profession and about
1919 hand hygiene; moreover, she has initiated mentoring programs with
2020 the Mansfield Independent School District and the Ben Barber Career
2121 and Technology Academy health science technology program, which
2222 allows students to observe nurses and physicians at Mansfield
2323 Methodist; and
2424 WHEREAS, In all of her endeavors, Mrs. Carter has been
2525 blessed with the support of a loving family, including her husband,
2626 Jerry, who serves as chaplain for Baylor Medical Center at
2727 Waxahachie, her son, Chris, a critical care nurse for John Peter
2828 Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, and her daughter, Laura, a nuclear
2929 medicine technician at the Methodist Dallas Medical Center; and
3030 WHEREAS, A skilled and caring medical professional, Cynthia
3131 Carter has demonstrated exceptional dedication to her field, and it
3232 is indeed a pleasure to recognize her many outstanding
3333 accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
3434 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
3535 Legislature hereby congratulate Cynthia Carter on being named a
3636 Fort Worth Business Press HealthCare Hero and extend to her sincere
3737 best wishes for continued success with her important work; and, be
3838 it further
3939 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4040 prepared for Mrs. Carter as an expression of high regard by the
4141 Texas House of Representatives.
