5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Cynthia Carter of Waxahachie has been honored as a |

6 | 6 | | Fort Worth Business Press HealthCare Hero for her outstanding |

7 | 7 | | quality of service and demonstrated commitment to the well-being of |

8 | 8 | | her fellow citizens; and |
---|
9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Carter has taught more than 1,000 nurses during |
---|
10 | 10 | | her 34 years as a clinical instructor; in her current position as |
---|
11 | 11 | | director of education at Methodist Mansfield Medical Center, she is |
---|
12 | 12 | | responsible for training all nurses, coordinating nursing |
---|
13 | 13 | | orientation, and establishing and directing student affiliation |
---|
14 | 14 | | clinical rotation programs with The University of Texas at |
---|
15 | 15 | | Arlington, Tarrant County College, and Navarro College in Ellis |
---|
16 | 16 | | County; and |
---|
17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Committed to community outreach, she visits local |
---|
18 | 18 | | schools to inform children about the nursing profession and about |
---|
19 | 19 | | hand hygiene; moreover, she has initiated mentoring programs with |
---|
20 | 20 | | the Mansfield Independent School District and the Ben Barber Career |
---|
21 | 21 | | and Technology Academy health science technology program, which |
---|
22 | 22 | | allows students to observe nurses and physicians at Mansfield |
---|
23 | 23 | | Methodist; and |
---|
24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, In all of her endeavors, Mrs. Carter has been |

25 | 25 | | blessed with the support of a loving family, including her husband, |
---|
26 | 26 | | Jerry, who serves as chaplain for Baylor Medical Center at |
---|
27 | 27 | | Waxahachie, her son, Chris, a critical care nurse for John Peter |
---|
28 | 28 | | Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, and her daughter, Laura, a nuclear |
---|
29 | 29 | | medicine technician at the Methodist Dallas Medical Center; and |
---|
30 | 30 | | WHEREAS, A skilled and caring medical professional, Cynthia |
---|
31 | 31 | | Carter has demonstrated exceptional dedication to her field, and it |
---|
32 | 32 | | is indeed a pleasure to recognize her many outstanding |

33 | 33 | | accomplishments; now, therefore, be it |
