 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The loved ones of Dorothy Rogers of Waxahachie were
 greatly saddened by her passing on April 14, 2009, at the age of 72;
 and
 WHEREAS, Born in Wellington on March 9, 1937, to George and
 Emma Estes, the former Dorothy Estes grew up with the companionship
 of two brothers, G. E. and Charles Glen, and a sister, Wanda Jo; and
 WHEREAS, She married Gordon Rogers, and the couple shared
 nearly 50 years together; their family life was made even richer
 with the addition of two children, seven grandchildren, and six
 great-grandchildren; and
 WHEREAS, Over the course of her 32-year career with Valvoline
 Oil Company, Mrs. Rogers was the recipient of multiple honors and
 awards; in retirement, she shared her time volunteering in schools
 and on mission trips, and she was an active member of the Baylor
 Auxiliary, Gingerbread Homemakers, Waxahachie Mothers Club, Ellis
 County Republican Women, and Ellis County Master Gardener
 Association; she also enjoyed traveling; and
 WHEREAS, "Miss Dorothy" was an inspiration to many for her
 optimism and her determination to live life to the fullest, and she
 will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew
 and loved her; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Dorothy Rogers and
 extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her
 husband, Gordon Rogers; to her daughters and their spouses, Debbie
 and George Payne and Tracy and Chris Harbour; to her mother, Emma
 Estes; to her brother, Charles Glen Estes; to her grandchildren and
 great-grandchildren; and to her other relatives and friends; and,
 be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Dorothy
 Rogers.
