 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Residents of the Alief community in Houston lost a
 beloved friend and neighbor with the passing of Henry Donald
 Williams on May 13, 2009, at the age of 75; and
 WHEREAS, Henry Williams was born in Kentucky, and he worked
 to help provide for his nine younger siblings before answering his
 nation's call to duty and joining the U.S. Air Force as a teenager;
 after serving his country for 21 years, he went on to become an
 educator and was employed by the Aldine and Lamar Independent
 School Districts; and
 WHEREAS, This public-spirited Texan constantly strived to
 improve the quality of life for the members of his community; he
 served on the board of the Bellaire West Home Owners Association and
 as the treasurer for the Houston Police Department Westside
 Positive Interaction Program, and he was a founding member and
 secretary of the Alief Super Neighborhood Council; also involved in
 cultural activites, he was a longtime member of the Notre Dame choir
 and an officer of the Rainbow Rockers Square Dance Club; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Williams enjoyed 41 years of marriage with his
 wife, Heidi; after her death, he was fortunate enough to find love a
 second time, and he and his wife, Anne, often volunteered together
 and were highly regarded in their community for their diligent work
 with the annual Alief Health Fair; Mr. Williams was a devoted father
 to his four children, Barbara, Mike, Jim, and the late Henry Lee
 Williams, and he welcomed eight grandchildren into his treasured
 family; and
 WHEREAS, With his compassion and generosity, Henry Williams
 enhanced the lives of many, and his legacy of goodwill will continue
 to inspire those who were privileged to know him; now, therefore, be
 it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Henry Donald
 Williams and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family:
 to his wife, Anne Williams; to his children, Barbara McInnis, Mike
 Williams and his wife, Edie, and Jim Williams and his wife, Shelli;
 to his grandchildren, Dion, Justin, and Cameron McInnis and Hailey,
 Shane, Brian, Callie, and Jaime Williams; and to his other
 relatives and friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Henry
 Williams.
