44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Michael Najera won election to the board of trustees
66 of the Socorro Independent School District on May 9, 2009, and as he
77 prepares to take office, it is appropriate that he be honored for
88 his exemplary dedication to enhancing the education of the
99 district's schoolchildren; and
1010 WHEREAS, Providing youth with a quality education is
1111 essential to creating a prosperous future for our state and nation,
1212 and public schools are the cornerstone of this crucial endeavor;
1313 local school board members unite their efforts with those of
1414 parents, classroom teachers, and other education professionals to
1515 provide the best possible learning environment for area students;
1616 and
1717 WHEREAS, In his professional life, Mr. Najera is a health
1818 care consultant for a software company, and his desire to take on
1919 civic responsibilities is indeed admirable; and
2020 WHEREAS, Michael Najera is committed to broadening the path
2121 of educational opportunity for Socorro ISD students, and through
2222 his efforts to meet their current needs and to anticipate future
2323 challenges, he is rendering a valuable public service; now,
2424 therefore, be it
2525 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2626 Legislature hereby congratulate Michael Najera on his election to
2727 the board of trustees of the Socorro Independent School District
2828 and extend to him sincere best wishes for a successful and
2929 productive term in office; and, be it further
3030 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3131 prepared for Mr. Najera as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3232 House of Representatives.
