| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Michael Najera won election to the board of trustees |

| 6 | 6 | | of the Socorro Independent School District on May 9, 2009, and as he |

| 7 | 7 | | prepares to take office, it is appropriate that he be honored for |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | his exemplary dedication to enhancing the education of the |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | district's schoolchildren; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Providing youth with a quality education is |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | essential to creating a prosperous future for our state and nation, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | and public schools are the cornerstone of this crucial endeavor; |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | local school board members unite their efforts with those of |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | parents, classroom teachers, and other education professionals to |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | provide the best possible learning environment for area students; |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and |

| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, In his professional life, Mr. Najera is a health |

| 18 | 18 | | care consultant for a software company, and his desire to take on |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | civic responsibilities is indeed admirable; and |

| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Michael Najera is committed to broadening the path |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | of educational opportunity for Socorro ISD students, and through |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | his efforts to meet their current needs and to anticipate future |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | challenges, he is rendering a valuable public service; now, |

| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Michael Najera on his election to |

| 28 | 28 | | and extend to him sincere best wishes for a successful and |
