H.R. No. 2743
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Michael Najera won election to the board of trustees
of the Socorro Independent School District on May 9, 2009, and as he
prepares to take office, it is appropriate that he be honored for
his exemplary dedication to enhancing the education of the
district's schoolchildren; and
WHEREAS, Providing youth with a quality education is
essential to creating a prosperous future for our state and nation,
and public schools are the cornerstone of this crucial endeavor;
local school board members unite their efforts with those of
parents, classroom teachers, and other education professionals to
provide the best possible learning environment for area students;
and
WHEREAS, In his professional life, Mr. Najera is a health
care consultant for a software company, and his desire to take on
civic responsibilities is indeed admirable; and
WHEREAS, Michael Najera is committed to broadening the path
of educational opportunity for Socorro ISD students, and through
his efforts to meet their current needs and to anticipate future
challenges, he is rendering a valuable public service; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Michael Najera on his election to
the board of trustees of the Socorro Independent School District
and extend to him sincere best wishes for a successful and
productive term in office; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Najera as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
