| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Raymundo Rodriguez has served the Socorro |

| 6 | 6 | | Independent School District board with great distinction for six |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | years, and it is indeed fitting to recognize his contributions; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Throughout his tenure, Ray Rodriguez worked |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | diligently to maintain a sound fiscal standing and increase the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | district's savings, and he advocated for higher pay for the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | district's hardworking employees; a dedicated public servant, he |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | previously served on the city council for 12 years, and was mayor of |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Socorro from 1998 to 2000; in addition, he has served on several |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | committees for the Rio Grande Council of Governments, as well as on |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | its board; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Rodriguez worked as an attendance officer for |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Socorro ISD between 1987 and 1993, visiting homes to reach out to |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | the families of children with frequent absences; he is also a |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | retired business owner, having spent almost three decades in |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | medical sales and repairs; in all his endeavors, he enjoys the love |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | and support of his wife, Linda, and his children, Denise and Paul; |

| 22 | 22 | | and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, With an unwavering commitment to Socorro ISD |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | students and staff, Ray Rodriguez worked to foster a supportive and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | challenging education environment, and in so doing, he has helped |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | equip many young Texans with skills that will help them to build |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | fulfilling and productive lives; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature hereby honor Raymundo Rodriguez for his service as a |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | trustee of the Socorro Independent School District and extend to |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |

| 32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
