 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Raymundo Rodriguez has served the Socorro
 Independent School District board with great distinction for six
 years, and it is indeed fitting to recognize his contributions; and
 WHEREAS, Throughout his tenure, Ray Rodriguez worked
 diligently to maintain a sound fiscal standing and increase the
 district's savings, and he advocated for higher pay for the
 district's hardworking employees; a dedicated public servant, he
 previously served on the city council for 12 years, and was mayor of
 Socorro from 1998 to 2000; in addition, he has served on several
 committees for the Rio Grande Council of Governments, as well as on
 its board; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Rodriguez worked as an attendance officer for
 Socorro ISD between 1987 and 1993, visiting homes to reach out to
 the families of children with frequent absences; he is also a
 retired business owner, having spent almost three decades in
 medical sales and repairs; in all his endeavors, he enjoys the love
 and support of his wife, Linda, and his children, Denise and Paul;
 and
 WHEREAS, With an unwavering commitment to Socorro ISD
 students and staff, Ray Rodriguez worked to foster a supportive and
 challenging education environment, and in so doing, he has helped
 equip many young Texans with skills that will help them to build
 fulfilling and productive lives; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby honor Raymundo Rodriguez for his service as a
 trustee of the Socorro Independent School District and extend to
 him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Rodriguez as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
