H.R. No. 2783 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Reverend Keefe Cropper of Westbury United Methodist Church in Houston has long devoted himself to serving his faith and the greater community, and he is truly deserving of special recognition; and WHEREAS, A graduate of The University of Texas at Tyler, Reverend Cropper received his bachelor's degree in psychology and worked in the drafting and engineering fields for 13 years before he was called to the ministry; he earned his Master of Divinity degree from the Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University; and WHEREAS, Reverend Cropper began his career in the pulpit at Flint United Methodist Church in 1987 and served six other congregations before becoming senior pastor of Westbury United Methodist Church in 2007; he is currently conducting research in the area of evangelism and mission as a Polycarp Fellow; and WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Reverend Cropper enjoys the love and support of his wife, Tina, and two sons, Michael and Stephen; his genuine regard for the welfare of others has enriched the lives of many people, and by sharing his knowledge and experience with his fellow congregants, he is benefiting his community in countless ways; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby honor Reverend Keefe Cropper for his contributions to the community and extend to him best wishes for continued success in his good works; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Reverend Cropper as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
