| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |

| 6 | 6 | | by a great and enduring love, Doyle and Verda Arnold of Quinlan |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 20, 2009; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold were united in matrimony in |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Plano on that special day in 1959; through the years, they have |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | the addition of 5 children, 10 grandchildren, and 14 |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Arnold is a semiretired independent carpenter |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | and the owner of Arnold Construction; Mrs. Arnold enjoyed a career |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | with the Quinlan Independent School District before her retirement; |

| 16 | 16 | | and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | world during the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | have remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 23 | 23 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Doyle and Verda Arnold on their |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |

| 25 | 25 | | for continued happiness; and, be it further |
