H.R. No. 2812
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
by a great and enduring love, Doyle and Verda Arnold of Quinlan
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 20, 2009; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold were united in matrimony in
Plano on that special day in 1959; through the years, they have
nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with
the addition of 5 children, 10 grandchildren, and 14
great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Arnold is a semiretired independent carpenter
and the owner of Arnold Construction; Mrs. Arnold enjoyed a career
with the Quinlan Independent School District before her retirement;
and
WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the
world during the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife
have remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the
strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges
and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Doyle and Verda Arnold on their
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes
for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Arnold as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
