H.R. No. 2827
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to
honor Maricela De Len for her five years of exemplary service as
legislative assistant in the office of State Representative Aaron
Pea; and
WHEREAS, From her time working in the representative's
district office throughout her tenure in Austin during the 81st
Legislative Session, Ms. De Len has brought a high level of
enthusiasm and commitment to excellence to her tasks, which have
included drafting analyses of legislation, meeting and
corresponding with constituents, and providing efficient
administrative support; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of The University of Texas-Pan American
with a bachelor's degree in business administration and finance,
this dynamic young Texan is pursuing her master's degree in public
administration at UTPA, where she was also the president of the
Association of Public Administrators from the fall of 2008 through
the spring of 2009; she has been actively involved with the Hidalgo
County chapter of Texas Democratic Women and served as the group's
secretary and website manager, and she has taught Bible classes at
St. Margaret Mary Church; and
WHEREAS, Maricela De Len has made valuable contributions to
Representative Pea's office in her role as legislative assistant,
and it is most fitting to recognize her for a job well done; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby commend Maricela De Len for her service as
legislative assistant in the office of State Representative Aaron
Pea and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. De Len as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
