| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Members of the Phillis Wheatley High School Class of |

| 6 | 6 | | 1959 are gathering for a class reunion in August 2009 to celebrate |

| 7 | 7 | | the 50th anniversary of their graduation; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, This event promises to be a memorable one for all who |

| 9 | 9 | | attend, as old friendships are rekindled, cherished memories are |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | recalled, and the trials and triumphs of the past five decades are |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | shared; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, In the half-century since their high school |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | graduation, the men and women of the Class of '59 have lived full |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | and productive lives, and it is indeed fitting to recognize their |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | myriad achievements as well as their loyalty to their alma mater; |

| 16 | 16 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 17 | 17 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 18 | 18 | | Legislature hereby commemorate the 50th anniversary of the |

| 19 | 19 | | graduation of the Phillis Wheatley High School Class of 1959 and |

| 20 | 20 | | extend to its members sincere best wishes for a successful and |
