R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Members of the Phillis Wheatley High School Class of
1959 are gathering for a class reunion in August 2009 to celebrate
the 50th anniversary of their graduation; and
WHEREAS, This event promises to be a memorable one for all who
attend, as old friendships are rekindled, cherished memories are
recalled, and the trials and triumphs of the past five decades are
shared; and
WHEREAS, In the half-century since their high school
graduation, the men and women of the Class of '59 have lived full
and productive lives, and it is indeed fitting to recognize their
myriad achievements as well as their loyalty to their alma mater;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby commemorate the 50th anniversary of the
graduation of the Phillis Wheatley High School Class of 1959 and
extend to its members sincere best wishes for a successful and
enjoyable event; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the class as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
