| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Mary Helen Bair has been named the 2009 Citizen of |

| 6 | 6 | | the Year by the Longview Rotary Club; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, A truly deserving recipient of this accolade, Ms. |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Bair helped organize the inaugural Thanksgiving Food Drive in |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Longview, and she continues to assist with the coordination of the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | annual event; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Bair worked for many years as a program director |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | of KFRO, a local radio station; moreover, this tireless volunteer |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | has contributed to an array of civic organizations, including |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Hospice of Longview, Gregg County Crime Stoppers, Longview |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Community Theater, and United Way; in all of her endeavors, she |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | benefits from the love and support of her husband, Chuck, and the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | couple enjoy membership at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Mary Bair sets a sterling example of community |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | engagement for her fellow citizens, and it is indeed a pleasure to |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | join the Longview Rotary Club in recognizing her for her |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | outstanding efforts; now, therefore, be it |

| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 23 | 23 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Mary Helen Bair on her receipt of |

| 24 | 24 | | the 2009 Citizen of the Year award and extend to her sincere best |
