H.R. No. 2839
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Mary Helen Bair has been named the 2009 Citizen of
the Year by the Longview Rotary Club; and
WHEREAS, A truly deserving recipient of this accolade, Ms.
Bair helped organize the inaugural Thanksgiving Food Drive in
Longview, and she continues to assist with the coordination of the
annual event; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Bair worked for many years as a program director
of KFRO, a local radio station; moreover, this tireless volunteer
has contributed to an array of civic organizations, including
Hospice of Longview, Gregg County Crime Stoppers, Longview
Community Theater, and United Way; in all of her endeavors, she
benefits from the love and support of her husband, Chuck, and the
couple enjoy membership at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church; and
WHEREAS, Mary Bair sets a sterling example of community
engagement for her fellow citizens, and it is indeed a pleasure to
join the Longview Rotary Club in recognizing her for her
outstanding efforts; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Mary Helen Bair on her receipt of
the 2009 Citizen of the Year award and extend to her sincere best
wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Bair as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
