 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Friends and family are mourning the loss of Richard
 Earle Deweese of Bonham, who passed away on May 6, 2007, at the age
 of 62; and
 WHEREAS, Born on October 15, 1944, to George and Marcella
 Behrends Deweese in Fort Worth, Richard Deweese graduated from
 Richardson High School and earned a bachelor's degree in marketing
 from The University of Texas; during his college years, he was a
 member of the Sigma Pi and Kappa Kappa Psi fraternities and
 performed in the Longhorn Band; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Deweese married Jayne Gay Jackson, and the
 couple shared 15 rewarding years together before Mrs. Deweese's
 death in 2003; Mr. Deweese was the father of three sons, Blake,
 Perry, and Kenneth, and took great pride in their achievements; and
 WHEREAS, In his professional life, Mr. Deweese worked as a
 sales representative for Matthews Marketing Products; in addition,
 he was a retired staff sergeant in the Texas Air National Guard and
 was instrumental in the founding of the Armed Forces Day
 celebration in Fannin County; an elder at First Christian Church,
 he served as choir director, as Sunday school teacher, and as a
 member and former chair of the church board; he was also active in
 The University of Texas Alumni Band Association and was a longtime
 member of the Handley Masonic Lodge; and
 WHEREAS, Richard Deweese led a caring and purposeful life,
 and he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who
 had the good fortune to know him; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Richard Earle Deweese
 and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his
 sons, Blake, Perry, and Kenneth Deweese; to his sister, Diana Sue
 Kerns, and her husband, George; to his mother-in-law, Mary
 Elizabeth "Kitty" Jackson; to his nieces, Katherine Kerns, Audra
 Riopelle, and Linda Smith; and to his other relatives and friends;
 and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Richard
 Deweese.
