44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Friends and family were greatly saddened by the loss
66 of Nancy Jane Still of Abilene, who passed away on January 10, 2009,
77 at the age of 75; and
88 WHEREAS, The former Nancy Bailey was born on September 28,
99 1933, in Dallas to William E. and Juanita Bailey; she married Dick
1010 Still in 1952, and with the passing years, the couple's circle of
1111 loved ones grew to include a son, Kirk Still, and his wife, Ruth, a
1212 daughter, Robin Starks, and her husband, Bill, and two nephews, Guy
1313 Roberts and Michael Garrett; and
1414 WHEREAS, Mrs. Still took great joy in her six grandchildren:
1515 Tammi Mankin and her husband, Kirk, Toni Lowrie and her husband,
1616 Jason, Ryan Starks and his wife, DeAnn, Rebecca Williams and her
1717 husband, Ben, Blake Starks and his wife, Hannah, and Andrew Still;
1818 she also relished the time she spent with her great-grandchildren:
1919 Meagan, Mallory, and Will Mankin, Grady, Laini, Bailee, and Fiona
2020 Starks, and Charlotte Williams; and
2121 WHEREAS, In her professional life, Mrs. Still worked for a
2222 number of members of the Texas House of Representatives, including
2323 State Representatives John Allen and Jim Kaster and Speaker Bill W.
2424 Clayton; she lived for a time in Yuma, Arizona, and was a noted
2525 Bible scholar who skillfully taught Bible studies to children and
2626 adults alike; and
2727 WHEREAS, Nancy Still lived a full and purposeful life that
2828 was made rich through her spiritual faith and the love of her family
2929 and friends, and memories of her kindness and generosity will long
3030 be cherished by all who knew her; now, therefore, be it
3131 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
3232 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Nancy Jane Still and
3333 extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family; and, be it
3434 further
3535 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3636 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
3737 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Nancy
3838 Still.
