5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Friends and family were greatly saddened by the loss |

6 | 6 | | of Nancy Jane Still of Abilene, who passed away on January 10, 2009, |

7 | 7 | | at the age of 75; and |
---|
8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The former Nancy Bailey was born on September 28, |
---|
9 | 9 | | 1933, in Dallas to William E. and Juanita Bailey; she married Dick |
---|
10 | 10 | | Still in 1952, and with the passing years, the couple's circle of |
---|
11 | 11 | | loved ones grew to include a son, Kirk Still, and his wife, Ruth, a |
---|
12 | 12 | | daughter, Robin Starks, and her husband, Bill, and two nephews, Guy |
---|
13 | 13 | | Roberts and Michael Garrett; and |
---|
14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Still took great joy in her six grandchildren: |

15 | 15 | | Tammi Mankin and her husband, Kirk, Toni Lowrie and her husband, |
---|
16 | 16 | | Jason, Ryan Starks and his wife, DeAnn, Rebecca Williams and her |
---|
17 | 17 | | husband, Ben, Blake Starks and his wife, Hannah, and Andrew Still; |
---|
18 | 18 | | she also relished the time she spent with her great-grandchildren: |

19 | 19 | | Meagan, Mallory, and Will Mankin, Grady, Laini, Bailee, and Fiona |
---|
20 | 20 | | Starks, and Charlotte Williams; and |
---|
21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, In her professional life, Mrs. Still worked for a |

22 | 22 | | number of members of the Texas House of Representatives, including |
---|
23 | 23 | | State Representatives John Allen and Jim Kaster and Speaker Bill W. |
---|
24 | 24 | | Clayton; she lived for a time in Yuma, Arizona, and was a noted |
---|
25 | 25 | | Bible scholar who skillfully taught Bible studies to children and |
---|
26 | 26 | | adults alike; and |
---|
27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Still lived a full and purposeful life that |
---|
28 | 28 | | was made rich through her spiritual faith and the love of her family |
---|
29 | 29 | | and friends, and memories of her kindness and generosity will long |
---|
30 | 30 | | be cherished by all who knew her; now, therefore, be it |
---|
31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
---|
32 | 32 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Nancy Jane Still and |
---|
33 | 33 | | extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family; and, be it |
