H.R. No. 2885 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Friends and family were greatly saddened by the loss of Nancy Jane Still of Abilene, who passed away on January 10, 2009, at the age of 75; and WHEREAS, The former Nancy Bailey was born on September 28, 1933, in Dallas to William E. and Juanita Bailey; she married Dick Still in 1952, and with the passing years, the couple's circle of loved ones grew to include a son, Kirk Still, and his wife, Ruth, a daughter, Robin Starks, and her husband, Bill, and two nephews, Guy Roberts and Michael Garrett; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Still took great joy in her six grandchildren: Tammi Mankin and her husband, Kirk, Toni Lowrie and her husband, Jason, Ryan Starks and his wife, DeAnn, Rebecca Williams and her husband, Ben, Blake Starks and his wife, Hannah, and Andrew Still; she also relished the time she spent with her great-grandchildren: Meagan, Mallory, and Will Mankin, Grady, Laini, Bailee, and Fiona Starks, and Charlotte Williams; and WHEREAS, In her professional life, Mrs. Still worked for a number of members of the Texas House of Representatives, including State Representatives John Allen and Jim Kaster and Speaker Bill W. Clayton; she lived for a time in Yuma, Arizona, and was a noted Bible scholar who skillfully taught Bible studies to children and adults alike; and WHEREAS, Nancy Still lived a full and purposeful life that was made rich through her spiritual faith and the love of her family and friends, and memories of her kindness and generosity will long be cherished by all who knew her; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Nancy Jane Still and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Nancy Still.
