 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and
 meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the family and friends
 of Mike Rambo of Colleyville, who passed away on March 21, 2008, at
 the age of 52; and
 WHEREAS, A native of the Lone Star State, Mr. Rambo was born
 in Bryan on July 28, 1955; he graduated from Andress High School and
 earned his undergraduate degree from Stephen F. Austin State
 University; he later studied at The University of Texas at
 Arlington, where he earned a master's degree in computer
 engineering, and he utilized this training as director of IT at
 McKesson Corporation; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Rambo loved nature, and he shared his passion
 for astronomy, birds, hiking, and camping as scoutmaster of Troop
 28 in Colleyville; in addition to teaching his scouts about their
 environment, he passed on principles by which he lived his life:
 leadership, responsibility, citizenship, and stewardship of
 nature; and
 WHEREAS, This notable Texan also taught his troop about the
 importance of giving back; together, they adopted and maintained
 the grounds of the Colleyville Nature Center and sections of Glade
 Road, and their efforts earned them the city's first Service Award;
 and
 WHEREAS, His own volunteerism extended to Colleyville Clean
 Up Day, which he led every year, as well as to the L. D. Bell High
 School Band booster organization and the First United Methodist
 Church of Grapevine; recognized by the 2005, 2006, and 2007
 President's Council on Service and Civic Participation, he also
 earned the McKesson Corp. 2006 Neil Harlan Award for community
 service; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Rambo was an Eagle Scout himself, and he
 received a number of accolades during his years as a scout and a
 leader; in addition, he was invited into the Order of the Arrow,
 gained scoutmaster training through Wood Badge, and served as a BSA
 lifeguard and cub master; and
 WHEREAS, In his free time, he enjoyed playing the French horn
 and serving as a coach with the Bedford Euless Soccer Association
 and Mid-Cities Basketball Association; and
 WHEREAS, Above all else, Mr. Rambo was devoted to his wife of
 27 years, Mary-Margaret, and to his sons, Charles and Aaron, both of
 whom have followed their dad's fine example and have been active in
 scouting for many years; they both served as senior patrol leader
 for Troop 28, and additionally, Charles is an Eagle Scout and Aaron
 is a Life Scout; and
 WHEREAS, Truly engaged in his community, Mike Rambo made it
 his mission to serve others, and his work as an educator and as a
 civic leader demonstrated his exceptional generosity and passion
 for life; though he is deeply missed by all those who were
 privileged to know him, he will long be remembered for the
 extraordinary contributions he made to his family, friends, and
 fellow residents; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Mike Rambo and extend
 deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
 Mary-Margaret Rambo; to his sons, Charles and Aaron Rambo; to his
 father, Colonel James Rambo; to his sisters, Cheryl Gerber, Bonnie
 Binder, and Debra Rambo Cleek; to his brother, Ken Rambo; and to his
 other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Mike Rambo.
