| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Conroe High School Theatre Department has been |

| 6 | 6 | | selected to participate in the 2009 American High School Theatre |

| 7 | 7 | | Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A highly competitive program, the event will feature |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | only 64 of the nearly 1,600 theatre departments that were nominated |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | from throughout the United States; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, The Conroe High School Theatre Department, which is |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | skillfully directed by Dave Feranchak and Becca Babbitt, was chosen |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | based on its philosophical approach to training students in |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | theatre; in August, the Conroe group will perform at the Edinburgh |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Festival Fringe, one of the world's largest and most prestigious |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | arts festivals; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Through commitment, hard work, and perseverance, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Conroe High drama students and their instructors have earned |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | international recognition, and all those associated with the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | department may indeed reflect with great pride on their outstanding |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | achievements as they embark on this exciting endeavor; now, |

| 22 | 22 | | therefore, be it |

| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 24 | 24 | | Legislature hereby honor the members of the Conroe High School |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Theatre Department and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
