H.R. No. 2970
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Conroe High School Theatre Department has been
selected to participate in the 2009 American High School Theatre
Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland; and
WHEREAS, A highly competitive program, the event will feature
only 64 of the nearly 1,600 theatre departments that were nominated
from throughout the United States; and
WHEREAS, The Conroe High School Theatre Department, which is
skillfully directed by Dave Feranchak and Becca Babbitt, was chosen
based on its philosophical approach to training students in
theatre; in August, the Conroe group will perform at the Edinburgh
Festival Fringe, one of the world's largest and most prestigious
arts festivals; and
WHEREAS, Through commitment, hard work, and perseverance,
Conroe High drama students and their instructors have earned
international recognition, and all those associated with the
department may indeed reflect with great pride on their outstanding
achievements as they embark on this exciting endeavor; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby honor the members of the Conroe High School
Theatre Department and extend to them sincere best wishes for
success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the department as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
