 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Distinguished jurist and community leader Donald
 Williams has enhanced the quality of life in El Paso, and his
 efforts have earned him the heartfelt admiration of his fellow
 citizens; and
 WHEREAS, A graduate of The University of Texas at El Paso, Mr.
 Williams earned his J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law
 and went on to build a notable resume with the U.S. Army Judge
 Advocate General's Corps and as senior defense counsel at Fort
 Bliss; he served his fellow citizens as associate municipal court
 judge and as family court judge, and he currently operates his own
 practice and serves as a visiting associate family court judge with
 the 171st District Court; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Williams has long been dedicated to giving back
 to the community; a former president of the Pebble Hills Elementary
 PTA and the Theta Delta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha
 Fraternity, he has co-chaired the Youth Enrichment Seminar, served
 on the United Way Allocations Committee, and volunteered with the
 Juvenile Drug Court of the 409th District Court; his work has also
 benefited St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church, Leadership El Paso,
 and Junior Achievement of the Desert Southwest; and
 WHEREAS, Recognized for his many contributions, Mr. Williams
 has earned the Outstanding Community Service Award from Phillips
 Chapel CME Church, the Outstanding Citizenship Award from Delta
 Sigma Theta Sorority, and the inaugural President's Award from the
 El Paso branch of the NAACP; most recently, he has been honored with
 the local NAACP Community Service Award and the El Paso Commission
 for Women Community Service Recognition; and
 WHEREAS, Those individuals who step forward to share their
 time with others are indeed deserving of our profound gratitude,
 and it is a pleasure to honor this esteemed Texan who has enriched
 the lives of countless others with his dedicated service; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby commend Donald Williams for his noteworthy
 contributions to the people of El Paso and extend to him sincere
 best wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Williams as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
