| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Carlos Eduardo Mejia has provided indispensable |

| 6 | 6 | | support to the Capitol office of Representative Norma Chavez; and |

| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Willing to take on any project that is asked of him, |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Mr. Mejia has managed his many daily responsibilities in an |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | exceptional manner, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | the perseverance to overcome all challenges brought before him; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Mejia previously worked as an intern in the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Office of Public Safety and Homeland Security of the Houston |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Mayor's Office, where he updated the division's website, helped |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | organize a community event, and assisted the director with a |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | variety of tasks; in addition, he served as a supervisor at Sellers |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Brothers, Inc.; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, A classmate of Representative Chavez at The |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | University of Texas at Austin, Mr. Mejia is majoring in business and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | is distinguished as a Rapoport Service Scholar, a member of the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Hispanic Business Student Association, and an assistant instructor |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | for the Texas Latin Dance Club; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Carlos Mejia has performed his duties in the office |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | of Representative Chavez with skill and dedication, and his fine |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | work has been of great benefit to the constituents of House District |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | 76 and people throughout the state; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature hereby honor Carlos Eduardo Mejia for his outstanding |

| 28 | 28 | | service in the office of Representative Norma Chavez and extend to |

| 29 | 29 | | him sincere best wishes for continued success in all of his |
