H.R. No. 3017 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Carlos G. Madrid was named the Outstanding Young Lawyer at the Law Day Dinner and Awards Presentation hosted by the El Paso Bar Association on May 9, 2009; and WHEREAS, An associate at Scott Hulse, P.C., Charlie Madrid graduated with highest honors from The University of Texas at El Paso in 2004 and from Yale Law School in 2007, and he currently practices in the areas of litigation, labor and employment, and competition and antitrust; he is the president of the UTEP Law School Preparation Institute Alumni Affinity Group and the vice president of the El Paso Young Lawyers Association; and WHEREAS, The Law Day Dinner provides an opportunity for members of the El Paso Bar Association to honor lawyers and others for their professional achievements, service to the legal profession, and contributions to their community, and Mr. Madrid is indeed a deserving recipient of this impressive accolade; and WHEREAS, Through his dedicated efforts, Carlos Madrid has garnered the respect and admiration of his colleagues, and he may indeed take justifiable pride in his notable accomplishments; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Carlos G. Madrid on being named the 2009 Outstanding Young Lawyer by the El Paso Bar Association and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Madrid as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
