H.R. No. 3018
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Raymundo Velarde was named Outstanding Lawyer at the
Law Day Dinner and Awards Presentation hosted by the El Paso Bar
Association on May 9, 2009; and
WHEREAS, An attorney in private practice, Mr. Velarde is a
graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and of Boston College
Law School; his practice includes criminal law, personal injury,
and federal criminal law; and
WHEREAS, The Law Day Dinner provides an opportunity for
members of the El Paso Bar Association to honor lawyers and others
for their professional achievements, service to the legal
profession, and contributions to their community, and Mr. Velarde
is a most deserving recipient of this impressive accolade; and
WHEREAS, Through his dedicated efforts, Ray Velarde has
garnered the respect and admiration of his colleagues, and he may
take justifiable pride in his notable accomplishments; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Raymundo Velarde on his receipt of
the Outstanding Lawyer Award from the El Paso Bar Association and
extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and
happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Velarde as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
