H.R. No. 3021 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Tracy Yellen has played a vital role in her community through her service with the YWCA El Paso del Norte Region; and WHEREAS, The El Paso YWCA seeks to empower and enrich the lives of women and girls in a 17-county area, and this outstanding organization is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2009; and WHEREAS, A graduate of Johns Hopkins University, Ms. Yellen moved to El Paso in 1992; in 1997, she was hired to oversee the development of a YWCA property on the east side of the city, and she subsequently was instrumental in raising funds to build the YWCA's Independence House and its Sara McKnight Transitional Living Center; and WHEREAS, Ms. Yellen went on to work for the organization on the international level, managing the Global Campaign for the World YWCA/USA; she presently serves on the El Paso YWCA Board of Directors; and WHEREAS, Dedicated volunteers contribute immeasurably to the well-being of communities across the Lone Star State, and Tracy Yellen has helped to secure for countless individuals the hope of a brighter, more promising future; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby commend Tracy Yellen for her exceptional record of service with the YWCA El Paso del Norte Region and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Yellen as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
